I am Evangelos Balafas, a Senior Laboratory Animal Technologist with more than 25 years of experience in the care, handling, and management of laboratory animals. Over the years, I have specialized in techniques involving mice and rats, supporting numerous research projects aimed at understanding animal biology and behavior.

Since 2009, I serve as an instructor in two international training courses and hot labs under the auspices of FELASA, contributing to the education and development of new professionals in the field. In parallel, I have authored and co-authored publications in both national and international scientific journals, strengthening the link between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

My long-standing experience in research has revealed the need for specialized, custom-made devices that meet the specific requirements of each experimental setup. This realization led to the creation of Lab Animal Colors (LAC) — a company where scientific expertise meets creativity and technology.

Through 3D design and printing, I design and manufacture innovative devices and tools for use in laboratory animal facilities, with an emphasis on ergonomics, precision, and reproducibility. Each creation is the result of collaboration with researchers and is based on real laboratory needs — from behavioral testing apparatus to tools for daily handling and training.

My goal is to bridge science and technology, providing functional, safe, and aesthetically refined solutions that support high-quality research and promote animal welfare in laboratory environments.
